Mistykal Hair Designs is my independent hairstyling business inside Faux Real. I’m Misty King, a Lubbock color specialist with over twenty years behind the chair and no interest in giving every head the same answer.

Every head of hair comes with a history.
I want to know that history before I decide what comes next. How does your hair behave? What color is underneath the current color? What has worked before, and what drove you crazy? Those answers are often more useful than the inspiration photo.

The chemistry still counts.
I work with vivid color, natural coverage, dimensional brunettes, blondes, reds, and major lightening or darkening changes. I love ambitious color. I also know when we can push, when we need stages, and when the hair needs us to wait.

Meet Misty King
Twenty years in, and still paying attention.
I graduated from South Plains College’s cosmetology program in 2004. Hair still keeps me curious because it mixes chemistry, geometry, creativity, and the occasional surprise.
Color is my favorite problem to solve. I also share what I know when other stylists ask for guidance, and I’m always willing to learn something new myself.

I learn how your hair grows, how it responds to color, which cuts have behaved well, and what has not worked. I also learn how much maintenance and home styling you actually want.
That shared history helps me make sharper recommendations. It also gives us a better way to work toward a larger color, length, or texture goal without starting over every time.
